| Feelings of sadness often overwhelmed Decagon Star, who spent a lot of time thinking and wondering. Have I read enough books? Have I studied hard enough? Have I done the best I can? Will I ever become a famous person, a real star? Do I have any real talents? Decagon Star loved to read. Inside the pages of a book, in a world of imagination you could transport yourself to a million different places and just for one moment you could be someone else. Someone that no one could ever find. Someone who was strong likeable and funny. But deep down Decagon Star knew that there was something wrong. Decagon Star thought that even the pages of the books knew the thoughts of their readers. Deep inside the belly of a book, the book knew what was going on. Because books were all knowing and appealed to their readers. Decagon Star knew that without books life was non existent and thought, If only I could keep reading, living in the pages of someone's else's hopes and dreams I would be fine. But what if I wanted to live my own life. What if the books explained who I was. How do I work this out? Was there some secret code hidden in the pages? Were were the clues? Of all the books Decagon star had been reading lately, dealing with emotions seemed to be a common thread. The books helped a person feel it. And by immersing yourself into the world of books you could actually feel it. But not one of them actually hugged, embraced or physically said hey Decagon Star you really matter. You are a smart and clever kid. You had to be in the real world for that to happen. Sighing, Decagon Star realised that sometimes you felt as though you knew nothing at all, you were a nobody, if most of the time you lived through other peoples feelings and never your own. Decagon Star grabbed a dictionary and looked up words related to emotions. Love? Hope? Dreams? Happiness? What did they really mean? Becoming despondent Decagon Star realised that there was so much more to learn. Decagon Star thought out aloud. The past we cannot change. But we can change our future by our own thoughts, actions and deeds.
