| Gentle Annie |
| Gentle Annie and Rocky were family. They were cousins, but as different as chalk and cheese. They lived in different parts of the goldfields. Gentle Annie was from Gentle Annie Gully and Rocky was from Rocky Gully. This is the story of Gentle Annie. Now with a name like that you would think that Gentle Annie was a gentle hearted, spirited person, someone whose nature evolved around calming those that got annoyed. But if you thought that described gentle Annie then you have got it so wrong. Gentle Annie was the loudest, most boisterous humorous and fantastic girl you've ever met. But her booming voice seemed to wake even the most soundest of sleepers. And laugh! well the laughter not only was loud but it infected everyone else as well. When Annie laughed so did the kookaburras, dingoes, kangaroos and most of the people in the village. When Annie laughed it was hard not to join her. Your sides hurt if you didn't and your sides hurt if you did. Annie had one of the greatest assets of all. Her ability not only to run the entire length of the soccer field talking and laughing, but her aim was awesome. But Annie also had two magnificent tricks, one up each sleeve. Because she was so funny she was able to make the goalie laugh so hard, that by the time the goalie realised what she was doing, she had shot for goal and put it in. With a straight face she could also say something to the opposition players that both bewildered and confused them into thinking that maybe they had missed something. But by the time they realised they hadn't it was too late. BANG BANG BANG into the goals it went. Try to imagine the expression on Gentle Annie's face as she shoots for goal, and the ball sails right past the goalie's face and into the net.
